Walking Alongside Parents: The SOGO x Anitch Children's Staph. aureus Skin Test

We went into the community to listen to parents' concerns, and used science to help them understand their child's skin.

Event Recap Children's Eczema Skin Microbiome Read time: ~5 min

As the seasons turn and the weather shifts, many parents find themselves dealing with dryness, redness, and recurring flare-ups on their child's skin. For families living with eczema, watching a child's delicate skin struggle brings a particular kind of anxiety, and we understand it well.

Anitch has always believed that skincare should not stop at what sits on the surface. It is about rebuilding the skin barrier and restoring balance to the skin's microbiome. That is why we held the SOGO x Anitch Children's Staphylococcus aureus Skin Test, not simply to showcase our products, but to step into the community, listen to parents directly, and offer proper scientific support.

    Why test for Staphylococcus aureus?

Staphylococcus aureus is one of the most common bacteria involved in triggering and worsening eczema. To help parents understand what was actually happening on their child's skin, we invited specialists from Antenovus Biotechnology Limited to conduct skin sampling on site. Samples were then safely transported to a laboratory for analysis.

    On-site sampling

Specialists from Antenovus Biotechnology collected skin samples gently and comfortably, with no discomfort for the children involved.

    Laboratory analysis

Samples were transported securely to a laboratory and tested specifically for Staphylococcus aureus, giving parents a scientific reference point.

    One-to-one guidance

Our team answered questions individually, from steroid-free care to everyday moisturising technique, with no rush and no sales pressure.

    What users told us afterwards

Following the event, we surveyed families whose children tested positive for Staphylococcus aureus, asking parents to report how their child's skin responded after using Anitch products consistently.

    S. aureus positive eczema users
After 4 or more consecutive days

    68.6%*

    of parents reported less scratching

    S. aureus positive eczema users
After 6 to 7 consecutive days

    70%*

of parents reported improved skin condition

*Based on the 2026 SOGO x anitch survey. Self-reported by parents of eczema users who tested positive for Staphylococcus aureus: reported reduction in scratching after 4 or more consecutive days of use (n=35); reported improvement in skin condition after 6 to 7 consecutive days of use (n=30). These are self-reported survey results, not a clinical trial. Individual results vary.

On the day: from sampling to answers

    1

    Professional skin sampling

Antenovus specialists carried out the sampling gently for each child, explaining the process and the purpose of the test to parents as they went.

    2

    Listening to every parent's story

With so many products on the market, parents often feel lost about where to start. Every member of our team on the day was there to listen first and understand each child's situation before offering any advice.

    3

    Answering care questions properly

We worked through a lot of questions about steroid-free care, everyday moisturising, and how our core ingredient ANESININ® targets harmful bacterial toxins while leaving healthy skin flora intact.

A story from the day: One mother came in with her daughter, who has struggled with eczema for a long time. She told us she had tried countless approaches without seeing much change, and the worry had been weighing on her. After the sampling was completed and the importance of rebuilding the skin barrier was explained to her, she learned that the entire Anitch range is free from steroids and antibiotics and suitable for long-term use on infants and young children. She said it was the first time in a while she had felt reassured.

More than a product. Walking alongside parents.

That small interaction says a lot about what we are trying to do. Anitch is not only here to provide products that help calm eczema. We want to listen to your story and respond to what you actually need. The one-to-one consultation and education we offered on the day is where that shows most clearly.

    Thank you

This event would not have been possible without every family who took part, SOGO for generously providing the space, and our partner Antenovus Biotechnology Limited for their professional support throughout. We also received a great deal of positive feedback from visitors asking us to run more events like this so more people living with eczema can benefit. That encouragement means a lot to us.

If you were not able to join us in person, you are still welcome to explore our range of repair products designed for infants, young children, and sensitive skin on the Anitch eShop. Follow us on social media to hear about the next eczema event first, and our online customer service team is always available if you have questions.

The bottom line: Seeing worry turn into a relieved smile is the reason we keep going. Anitch will continue to develop gentle, safe, and effective products backed by rigorous research, to help protect the skin health of every family. Let us keep looking after that skin barrier together.
